Frequently Asked Questions

What is CPC North?

Central Peninsula Church is a group of people from all walks of life who are being transformed by Jesus Christ. Every week, we join together to worship God and to experience a relevant and powerful message, which teaches truths from the Bible. We are passionate about sharing the love of Christ by caring for each other and serving our communities. We are one church, meeting at two locations, Foster City (www.cpcfc.org) and San Bruno.

The mission of CPC is to make and mature more followers of Christ. This is the foundation for everything we do.

Is CPC North associated with Central Peninsula Church in Foster City?

Yes! We are an extension of CPC Foster City. All of the programs offered through our CPC Foster City campus, including Children, Students, Men’s Fraternity, Woman’s Bible Study, 20s (and many others) are also for those who attend CPC North.

If you already have a very nice facility in Foster City why start one in San Bruno?

The Bible describes the Church as a body of believers and not a building or location. Church is wherever God's people gather! But we do need places to meet and we have added CPC North for a number of reasons: Our attendance in Foster City had grown to capacity; so in order to effectively minister to more people we needed to expand. San Bruno and the surrounding communities are “underserved” and by locating a campus in San Bruno we can better reach and serve those living north of Foster City. And finally, we love the community of San Bruno!

Why do you meet in a school?

We have rented portions of Pen/crest High School for our Sunday service. The location is centrally located and easy to find. The Pen/Crest Auditorium provides a great facility for our worship services and other areas of the building are transformed each week for our pre-school, children, and student programs. The rent we pay also helps the San Mateo Union High School District with their financial challenges by using the Pen/Crest facility at times that would otherwise be unused.

And, we need room to grow. During our preview services in the Fall of 2008, before our official launch, our attendance grew to almost 300 and by January 2009 our attendance exceeded 400. Few existing facilities in the area meet our needs and provide for growth.

What should I wear?

Be comfortable. We focus on Jesus – not dress.

Jeans are fine. We are very casual.

What should I bring?

Your friends and family!

A Bible if you have one, but we show the scripture passages on a big screen so it’s up to you.

Where should I park?

There are three parking lots at Pen/Crest High School where CPC North meets on Sundays:

• The main lot (former basketball courts) is next to Lot 1.

• Lots 2 and 3 are also great parking areas.

Please note that Lot 1 is not available for church parking.

Where do I go when I get there?

If you park in the main lot:

  • Use the front, main entrance to enter the building
  • Go through the outdoor halls and into Building F
  • The Preschool Rooms are located inside Crayon College, Building E
  • The Children's (K-5th grades) rooms are also inside Crayon College, Building E
  • The Middle School (6th-8th grades) meets inside Rooms 508 and 509, Building E
  • Worship is in the auditorium, Building F
  • The restrooms are inside Building F

    How do I get connected?

We want to help you get connected to community and get you involved in serving the church body. We really believe that to mature in your Christian faith takes more than just coming to church on Sunday.

Please download the brochure and begin to look over it. You’ll notice two colors, green and blue. Every green entry is for opportunities to grow in your faith here at CPC. Every blue entry is for opportunities to serve here at CPC.

Then, just email the person who oversees the ministry area you are interested in or call us in the church office.
